Make a Joyful Noise!

Last week I received the following text from one of our new members, Susan Burr who, along with her two daughters, will be officially joining our Hope community on Sunday.

Susan wrote: 

I wanted to thank you for the printed memory card and thank Peter for the sermon this past week.

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.

Worship the Lord with gladness;

come before him with joyful songs

Very soon after Sunday’s service, the peace I felt was replaced by an abrupt discord in my soul due to a small parenting frustration. 

I was driving, so I turned on a Christian song really loud and rolled down my windows. I did not mean to be restored, but I was. I did not mean to share so publicly, but I did. How do we make a joyful noise? Maybe it’s as simple and radical as playing music as we drive through town.
