Update on Join the Journey Experience
On Sunday, November 19, we had a great experience together! Bud Schultz and Larry Koltz took us on a trip down memory lane with a history of Hope. Then, Charles Butler celebrated Hope’s current ministry and challenged everyone to consider themselves "stakeholders of Hope” - people who have been impacted by Hope and care about its future. Pastor Peter shared about our vision for the future: equipping people to walk in the hope of Jesus and engage the disinterested by helping people experience an increasing degree of Elevation (Jesus-delivered perspective), Connection (Jesus-centered friendship), and Expedition (Jesus-motivated purpose). Our staff and board of directors have identified an additional $1.22 million in potential investments over 2018 and 2019 to help our vision move forward into the next century as we prepare to celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2018.
We also took time to: sing God's praises in worship, to join together in discussion about some of the things that had been shared, to share a meal, and to reflect on what God is calling each of us towards as our personal next step to “row the boat” of Hope forward into the future. For more information on the Join the Journey Experience, check out the canoe display in the Commons to see the signed paddles of specific ways we are being called to move forward into the future. You are invited to continue to Join the Journey in the new year and throughout our 100th anniversary year of 2018!
