Have you ever had to wait a really long time for someone? When you wait a very long time, it’s enough to make you wonder whether the waiting will ever end or if you’re just wasting your time. The people of Israel likely felt some of that during the 400 year time between the messages of the last of the Old Testament prophets (Malachi) and the arrival of our Savior Jesus. As we enter the season of Advent and prepare to celebrate the world-changing good news of Jesus’ birth, we also take time to prepare our hearts as we now eagerly wait for the return of Jesus when all things will be made new. This weeks message begins a series exploring the Advent and Christmas story called “Journey to the Nativity”.
