God is holy, righteous, and just. One of the out-workings of that is that sin and rebellion must be dealt with. Revelation gives us a stark and emotionally disturbing picture of God’s wrath against injustice and sin (as did the Old Testament prophets long before). While these pictures are sobering, they can also call us to two important things: an examination of our lives and repentance of our own sin, and faith in the finished work of Jesus to pay the price for our sin. Those who trust Jesus for forgiveness have it and are called to live new lives doing Jesus on his mission of bringing new life to all creation!
