It's been said that “the student isn’t greater than the master.” That’s also true for those who follow Jesus - we follow Jesus who was crucified as a sacrificial lamb, and as we follow him, we can expect suffering, and for some, even death. This has been the case for the entire history of Christianity. Thankfully, in the end, Jesus and his followers win, and there will be no more tears. That vision of the future and bits and pieces of the “no more tears tomorrow” can sustain and encourage us as we follow Jesus now.
