Many people are attracted to the idea that “all paths lead to God” or that “all religions teach the same thing.” While it’s true that most major religions do share some similar ideas such as the “golden rule,” there is much more that they strongly disagree about. It’s impossible for them to all be true or all lead to God because they teach opposite and irreconcilable ideas. The New Testament of the Bible clearly teaches that the one way to saving relationship with God is through faith in Jesus. While this idea seems intolerant to many, it’s actually very compassionate to teach and communicate the fact that all roads can’t lead to God, because they teach contradicting ideas. Additionally, Christianity is the only major religion that teaches that humans can’t earn their way into relationship with God, but that it is received in faith as a gift from God—that’s why it’s called the good news!
