We live in a world that values and rewards hard work. If we have money or the things that money can buy, we may thank God, but we also give ourselves a pat on the back. It’s not wrong to feel good about working hard to get ahead - that’s a good thing. The problem is that too often we forget that even the ability to work hard is a gift from God, as is EVERYTHING that hard work yields, in addition to all the stuff we didn’t earn. The reality is that EVERYTHING in this world belongs to God - He owns it - and He entrusts some of it to you for a time. He asks you to take what you’ve been given and multiply it for the sake of His kingdom - your time, money, and abilities. As we approach the mid-point of our capital campaign called Hope North: Building for the Next Generation, we have an opportunity to give thanks for all that God has done through the generosity of His people and also to look for ways to renew or increase our commitments (or make first time commitments!) to this important endeavor to help children, youth, and adults discover and experience the love of Jesus!
