Why do we go out into the world to love others to faith in Jesus? The religious leaders of the Jews in the 1st century couldn’t wrap their heads around why anyone would - and they were particularly annoyed that Jesus was friends with and spent time with people whose behavior wasn’t in line with God’s expectations or theirs. Jesus responds to their frustrations by telling three similar stories of a lost sheep, a lost coin, and a lost son. In each case, an urgent search is conducted and there is great rejoicing when the lost is found. Similarly, Jesus emphasizes that when even one person comes to faith in Him, there is a great party among the angels in heaven celebrating that good news! Giving the angels a reason to party is big reason why Hope exists.
