We live in a time of “cancel culture” and hate - a time when it is seen as not only appropriate but even as a moral duty to crucify the reputation of anyone who disagrees with you or holds a politically unpopular opinion. The call of Jesus is to “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Answering that call means swimming upstream and going against the grain and loving and praying for those you might otherwise want to “cancel” - may the Holy Spirit empower us to do so.
