Who are the followers of Jesus? We're people who aren’t who we used to be - from the beginning, the followers of Jesus have been asked to say “goodbye” to doing life on their own and to publicly part with their past self-directed life and to live in faith in Jesus instead. When that happens, it tells a story of God’s power to change a life - and that’s a story that even disinterested people take note of and can engage with - whether in 1st century Ephesus or 21st century Seattle.
