The people of Corinth were steeped in the Greek idea that the human body is a temporary tomb and that they could do whatever they wanted to with it. Paul writes a passionate reminder to them and to us that our bodies are made in the image of God and will one day be raised and transformed like Jesus’ body. Therefore, your body is not your own - it’s for the Lord and should be used to honor Him.
