We live in a time when most of us care a lot about our “rights” - and while we believe that we have certain “unalienable rights” given to us by our Creator, Paul challenges the Corinthian Christians and us that sometimes our call to love God and our neighbor means voluntarily giving up our rights in order to serve and protect the well-being of others. This is exactly what Jesus did for us, and is something he calls us to follow Him in as well.
