In a time of the pursuit of constant dopamine hits via endless doomscrolling on social media, it’s tempting to escape the challenges of real life by letting our hearts and minds repeatedly wander into the land of make-believe or at least the place where the line between reality and imagination is blurred. While some of this is harmless, it also speaks to the deeper hunger of the human heart to be fully alive - something which Jesus said he has come to bring and the thief lives to oppose. What would it look like to move from mere dreaming to fully living and engaging in each moment of life? This week’s message will explore how scripture speaks to this important question for each of our lives.
