We live in a time and a culture that is afflicted by what social scientists have called “hurry sickness” — that is to say most of us are trying to live far beyond our limits of time, energy, and money, and often suffering in various ways as a result. We also live in a time when many people are lonely and hungry for friendship, but don’t have many or sometimes any friends. Jesus lived at a slow enough pace that he was available to engage the people that crossed his path - what would it take for you to live more slowly and do less so that you could be available to love more? Care more? Be a friend more? This week’s message will explore what’s involved in becoming an “unhurried friend.”
