10:00 AM Worship Service
This week we’re kicking off a new series of messages called “God at the Movies”! The reality is that the good news of Jesus has permeated our culture in all kinds of ways people aren’t even aware of, and biblical themes are subtly embedded (often unknowingly) all over the place, including many of our favorite movies. This week we’ll look at the classic adventure movie, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In addition to being re-released in theaters this weekend for Father’s Day, it humorously explores the relationship of an older father and his adult son as they embark on a quest for the source of eternal life. Of course, while the movie plays off of biblical themes, there’s a lot that it misses or gets wrong - but it sets the stage for us to explore what Scripture says about where we can find eternal life, hope, and meaning, while also helping us reflect on relationships between dads and their children.
