In ancient times, kings and even fathers were often compared to shepherds taking care of their sheep. In the well-known and much-loved 23rd Psalm, David compares Yahweh, the God of Israel, to a shepherd taking care of His people Israel. As we encounter the various challenges of our time and of our lives, there is great hope and strength in remembering that God is also our good shepherd and that His love follows us all the days of our life!
