A Note from Amy Kopecky, Director of Contemporary Music
She was an outcast, standing at the village well at the hottest hour of the day, and alone. Weary. Shamed. There she met Jesus, who promised her living water for her thirsty soul. He concluded with these words of grace:
“God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24).
Yes, these are words of grace. When we meet at 10:30 on Sundays, we are not going through a religious rite, mustering up spiritual feelings or giving due allowances. We open our hands, we receive the truth of God’s grace, and we experience the power of His Spirit’s healing presence in our hearts.
Our worship teams lead songs with voice, guitars, drums, bass, keys, trumpets and the occasional glockenspiel. Sometimes we get loud. Sometimes we get intimate. We sing a repertoire of modern worship songs, (as David says in Psalm 149: “sing a new song”), and we sing hymns and spiritual songs (Colossians 3:16).
Are you a Musician?
We are always looking for more talented and enthusiastic musicians! If you have a heart for worship and play an instrument or sing, please contact Amy. Musicians are asked to audition and rehearse with the teams a few times prior to Sunday worship as necessary. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 7 pm, and interested musicians are invited to participate in a monthly worship (jam) session to get to know us.
The computer position involves operating the lyrics and images on Mac computers and is a once-a-month commitment.
