Who are the heroes, famous celebrities, or politicians that inspire you with hope? Who are the people that you listen and pay attention to when they speak, write, sing, act, or post online? Humans are hardwired to “worship” in the sense of adoring and putting our hope in others — the problem is that regardless of how much actual good any of these people can bring into our lives, our actions indicate that we often forget that only Jesus is the King of the universe who can bring the hope, healing, and salvation we really need. As we enter Holy Week, we remember and celebrate when Jesus was welcomed into Jerusalem as a coming king and savior — just days before he provided salvation by laying down his life in selfless sacrifice and love.
