Throughout Scripture, the contrast of light and dark are used to represent the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of this world. John calls us to “walk in the light, as Jesus is in the light” - the invitation is to “do life” in step and in sync with God and His ways and leading. This Sunday, six of our 8th grade students will confirm their faith in Jesus and publicly declare their intention to “walk in the light as He is in the light”. This can be a great opportunity for the rest of us to also re-affirm our faith in Jesus and our commitment to walk in the light of Jesus!
