Apr 16, 2023    Jonathan Kopecky

Once a month, beginning this Sunday, Jonathan will lead us in a 6-message series called Getting Back to Jesus. In April we will dive into “The Basics: Who do you say I am?" based on Matthew 16:13-20. In May, our focus will be “Busy” based on Luke 10:38-42. In July we will learn about how to ruthlessly eliminate “Hurry" from our life, based on Matthew 11:28-30. In August, we learn what “Silence and Solitude” looked like for Jesus and what that should look like in our lives. We will also focus on the topic “Disinterested,” digging into the ways Jesus re-engaged the disinterested people back in his day and how he cares deeply for us and wants us to be re-engaged in his mission. The concluding message on September 10 will kick things off for the fall with the mission of “Getting Back to Jesus” by welcoming him into this new season.

Who do you say I am? How do we experience Jesus' resurrection in 2023? Does it compare to how the disciples experienced it? Today, it can be tempting to go back to our normal lives unchanged. But the truth is that the resurrection changes everything. Let’s spend some time going back to the basics of who the disciples say Jesus is and ask: who do YOU say he is?
